Dancing at Red Rocks

Not a concert, but I think much better.  Well, maybe I’ll change my mind once I’ve actually been to a concert there.  Oh, and I think the 5:30am call time might sink the shoot down on the list.  It was worth it, wouldn’t you agree?
I’m just grateful it wasn’t as cold as it could have been. I know the dancers were freezing at dawn, but really it was a lot nicer than I had expected. Not even near cold enough to affect my batteries. The dancers did great. You trying wearing that at dawn on the top of a mountain.

We’re back

Back and ready to roll.  I’ll give an update from the vacation once I get my head on straight.

After the Rain

It rained for 3 days in a row. A strange time of the year to have that much rain, but I’ll take it as it comes. Our garden and grass needed the cool weather and moisture badly. After the rain the days were crisp and felt like Fall (today we’re back to 93 degrees). Monday was the perfect day to photograph and I had two willing subjects who were a lot of fun to get to know. Here’s “A Man and his Dog”:

Afternoon Shoot

My friend Heather and I decided we should shoot together at least once a month. July was her pick of location. This awesome mural wall on Colfax is what she chose. Lots of fun for her Transformer loving boy.
Stay tuned for future installments…

Then on the swing afterward while the sun was setting.

The party to end all parties

How could you beat the rock n’ roll birthday party?  What will you do next year?
The kids dressed up, played rock band for awhile, had a watermelon spitting contest (which I won, hehe), were handed  golden cd awards, and even had a cd cover photoshoot a la Stacie.  Here are the results.
I’ll try to name who I can:

Here’s the birthday boy; AKA Tommy Lee

Guns N’ Roses?  No… Lars from Metalica

Ozzie

Singer from “Green Day”

Hannah Montana

The girl from “Camp Rock”

Dude from “Foo Fighters”

Gene Simmons
