Watching Her Grow

She keeps on growing. Remember this?

Mom and dad dote on this little one; she is their little princess. How nice it was to meet grandma and grandpa and see the family all together. They can’t wait to see the latest installment, and I can’t wait to share. I love that I could work with this baby again. Can’t wait for the next time we meet. I’ll be photographing the entire little family for their Holiday card.

She’s One!

Ever since this little one was born, I have become the recipient of many wonderful hand-me-downs as she’s grown. You would think that I was the first time mom with the gifts this family has showered on us. It is so wonderful to have a community. It really does take a village.
Now that she’s one, we got together again for another photoshoot. What a lucky girl. Really, I was the lucky one. It’s so nice to photograph kids other than my own. I keep having dreams of working more and more; getting my name out in various ways. I need to have patience. But I love the variety that photographing others provides. I get excited at the prospect of being busy with work again.

She’s a budding bookworm too.

This swing was made by the parents. So much better looking than our plastic piece of… maybe we’ll have to commission another from them. You game for that?

Momma love. I always know when I’ve worn out my welcome. But just another with this cool little house…

So precious. Thank you for everything, you guys are the best. Have I told you that?

Eyes open and content to be. Gotta love it.

This is the blanket I knitted for him. I actually knitted it twice. The first go it was super wide and skinny. I would have rolled him up in it and it still wouldn’t have covered his toes. I think I had 180 stitches across and gave up trying to make it square, so bound it off and ended up with a shawl. But I wanted a blanket. That’s what I get for not using a pattern.
I began again, casting on about 80 stitches the second go ’round. I knitted the even rows and purled the odd until about 70 rows. Now it’s the perfect size and oh so soft.

Before and After

The baby is here, home and doing quite well. The belly shot was taken a week and a half before Zed arrived. The after shot taken just before he was 2 weeks old.

Day 2

On our way home from the hospital!

The kids really enjoy holding little Zed. They also enjoyed all the hospital snacks in the kitchen. Pudding, crackers, jello. Ezra had to have 2 or 3 little cups of frozen cranberry juice each time he came and India especially enjoyed the jello. Once Ezra even came and took a nap with me in my bed. He really wanted to stay the entire night, but thankfully that wasn’t allowed. I’m happy to say that the two nights at the hospital were not my last decent nights of sleep. While the baby does wake often, he typically goes right back to sleep. Except for last night. I was up for a couple of hours before dawn. This is only the beginning…
